Top Five Outfits of 2012

Hello, all! Merry Festivus and Happy New Year! I think I'm finally starting to understand the types of colors and fit that I'm drawn to, fashion wise. Here's my top five outfits of 2012 (in no particular order). P.S. Here's some runner ups: tomato and celery and brown, leopard, and wedges

Burgundy, White, and Metallic

Hey everybody! As it's the week before Christmas, I've been trying to dress a bit more 'festively' for the next few days. Anyways, I thought that this skirt was white and gold when I first thrifted it but it seems to have a 'greenish/gray' sheen to it--let's call it metallic! haha! P.S. This whole outfit consists of thrifted items--yay!

Red, Orange, and Leopard

I love, love, loved this combination today! I totally got inspiration from A Girl in Boston outfit last December. I think I nailed the 'feel' of the original :).

Purple and Blue

I'm so happy that it's Friday!! I was actually inspired to try this color combination from eboni's weekly link up. Although I don't have a leather skirt (I need to rectify that sooner than later), I love how the blue and purple sweater looks against the deep purple/brown of the skirt.

Gray and Burgundy

Hey everybody! I'm definitely 'matchy matchy' today, however the vest totally gave this gray dress a new life. I'm searching for a replacement for the dress--it's seen better days.

Clear Red

I think I finally found my shade of red. Although I love a deep burgundy or wine, clear red wins out every time. This dress was calling my name at the thrift store because of that beautiful clear red.

TGIF! I originally wore some silver flats with this outfit but they have to go!! I thrifted them last weekend and they hurt the heck out of my feet (half size too small). Thankfully, I purchased them on 50% off day, so I didn't waste too much money. As for these pink flats that I have on in the picture? They're awesome!!

Seagreen Black and Gray

 This school year has been really hectic so far! Anyways, this color combination is inspired by Instyle's April 2012 pull out calender.  They recommended pairing seagreen, black, and gray together.  In the future, I think that I'm going to forgo tying the cardigan.  Other than that, this is something that I'll definitely be recreating sooner than later.

 Hey :)! I was in my local thrift store (Savers) and came across this pleated floral skirt.  I have lots of unique skirts and almost passed this by... but something made me give it a chance, and I'm glad I did.  Expect to see it remixed a ton in the Fall!

White & Pinks

These burgundy wedges are a Mother's Day gift from my husband.  They're surprisingly comfortable for a 3.5 inch heel.  The only thing I don't like is that the T-strap seems to be a bit long for my foot. Oh well!

Mixed Animal Prints

Taking a page from Sheila and trying my hand at taking photos on my porch. I kind of like it! Anyways, I've got leopard, snake, and zebra print going on in this outfit. Who says you can't mix animal prints?!

Everything is thrifted except for the accessories. The necklace is a gift from last Christmas and the bracelet is from Kohls (many seasons ago).

Tan & Olive

I originally wanted to wear these cargo pants with a floaty ivory top but the top had some sort of weird stain on it. This is why I usually stay away from white!! Anyways, although my husband dislikes this sweater, I appreciate its comfort and ability to match almost any neutral.

Just not feeling like documenting jeans and tees. I'm trying to resist the urge to shop especially when I'm not wearing nearly as much of the stuff I currently own as I should. How do you get out of the rut of wearing the same things all the time? I usually try to do color themes for the week, however I'm really leaning toward doing a monthly challenge like Sheila.

Creamy Golden Brown

Still here!

I'm still around... I have been thoroughly enjoying my summer vacation thus far. Since it's so hot in Massachusetts lately, my outfits have been very simple (tanks and skirts). However, I am definitely getting inspiration lately from all the wonderful bloggers that I follow. My goal is to update at least once a week or four times a month. In any case, if it's hot where you are, stay cool and hydrated!

This or That Summer Challenge Outfit #5

So, I have really been digging this navy polka dot skirt lately. And hot pink is a neon color, right? And the celery cardigan? Well, it just 'goes' ;). Everything is thrifted! I have one more outfit planned for today that's going to be a stretch... but I'm excited to try it! Edited to add: I'll probably try that outfit after the challenge. Happy Father's Day!

For day 1 of Megan and Kiki's challenge , I decided to wear my platform wedges. Looking at the days, I just realized that I mixed up day 1 and day 2--oops!! In any case, I thought that this outfit came together quite well. April's Instyle cut outs have proved useful once again for the inspiration behind this color pairing. Although I've paired mustard yellow with red before, I think that the ivory (or is it white?) top bridges both colors nicely.
